Olympic Oath

                                          The Olympic Oath has a rich history, rooted in the ideals of sportsmanship and fair play. It was first introduced at the 1908 London Games and has evolved over time.

History

The Olympic Oath was established to promote the values of the Olympic Movement. Initially, it was taken by athletes but later included officials and judges. The oath serves as a commitment to compete fairly, honorably, and in the spirit of sportsmanship.

The Oath

The traditional wording of the Olympic Oath is as follows:

"In the name of all the competitors, I promise that we shall take part in these Olympic Games, respecting and abiding by the rules which govern them, in the spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of sport and the honor of our teams."

This oath emphasizes integrity, respect for the rules, and the celebration of sports, reflecting the ideals of Olympism.

Variations

In recent years, variations have emerged, including the inclusion of judges and officials in the oath, signifying a broader commitment to fair play across all levels of the Games.

The Olympic Oath stands as a reminder of the spirit of competition and the values that the Olympic Games aim to uphold.

The Officials' Oath

                                 The judge/official, also from the host nation, likewise held a corner of the flag and said the following:

In the name of all the judges and officials, I promise that we shall officiate in these Olympic Games with complete impartiality, respecting and abiding by the rules which govern them, in the true spirit of sportsmanship.

 

The Coaches' Oath

         At the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, an additional oath was taken by a coach; this was added to the protocol for the 2012 Games

In the name of all the coaches and other members of the athletes' entourage, I promise that we shall commit ourselves to ensuring that the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play is fully adhered to and upheld in accordance with the fundamental principles of Olympics.

                                                 ஒலிம்பிக் உறுதிமொழி ஒரு வளமான வரலாற்றைக் கொண்டுள்ளது, இது விளையாட்டுத்திறன் மற்றும் நியாயமான விளையாட்டின் இலட்சியங்களில் வேரூன்றியுள்ளது. இது முதன்முதலில் 1908 லண்டன் ஒலிம்பிக்கில் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டது மற்றும் காலப்போக்கில் உருவாகியுள்ளது.

"அனைத்து போட்டியாளர்களின் பெயரில், இந்த ஒலிம்பிக் போட்டிகளில் பங்கேற்போம் என்று நான் உறுதியளிக்கிறேன், அவர்களை நிர்வகிக்கும் விதிகளை மதித்து கடைப்பிடிப்போம், விளையாட்டு உணர்வு, விளையாட்டின் பெருமை மற்றும் எங்கள் அணிகளின் மரியாதை."


இந்த உறுதிமொழி ஒருமைப்பாடு, விதிகளுக்கு மரியாதை மற்றும் ஒலிம்பிக்கின் இலட்சியங்களை பிரதிபலிக்கும் விளையாட்டு கொண்டாட்டம் ஆகியவற்றை வலியுறுத்துகிறது.


வேறுபாடுகள்

                           சமீபத்திய ஆண்டுகளில், நீதிபதிகள் மற்றும் அதிகாரிகளை சத்தியப்பிரமாணத்தில் சேர்ப்பது உட்பட வேறுபாடுகள் வெளிவந்துள்ளன, இது விளையாட்டுகளின் அனைத்து மட்டங்களிலும் நியாயமான விளையாட்டிற்கான பரந்த உறுதிப்பாட்டைக் குறிக்கிறது.


ஒலிம்பிக் உறுதிமொழி போட்டியின் உணர்வு மற்றும் ஒலிம்பிக் விளையாட்டுக்கள் நிலைநிறுத்துவதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்ட மதிப்புகளை நினைவூட்டுகிறது.


அதிகாரிகளின் உறுதிமொழி


                                                        நீதிபதி/அதிகாரி, புரவலன் நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்தவர், இதேபோல் கொடியின் ஒரு மூலையைப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டு பின்வருமாறு கூறினார்:


அனைத்து நீதிபதிகள் மற்றும் அதிகாரிகளின் பெயரில், இந்த ஒலிம்பிக் போட்டிகளில் முழுமையான பாரபட்சமின்றியும், அவற்றை நிர்வகிக்கும் விதிகளை மதித்து, அவற்றைக் கடைப்பிடிப்பதாகவும், விளையாட்டுத் திறனின் உண்மையான உணர்வுடன் நாங்கள் பணியாற்றுவோம் என்று உறுதியளிக்கிறேன்.


பயிற்சியாளர்களின் உறுதிமொழி


                                                             2010 கோடைக்கால இளையோர் ஒலிம்பிக்கில், ஒரு பயிற்சியாளரால் கூடுதல் உறுதிமொழி எடுக்கப்பட்டது; இது 2012 விளையாட்டுகளுக்கான நெறிமுறையில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டது


அனைத்து பயிற்சியாளர்கள் மற்றும் விளையாட்டு வீரர்களின் பரிவாரங்களின் பிற உறுப்பினர்களின் பெயரில், விளையாட்டுத்திறன் மற்றும் நியாயமான விளையாட்டின் உணர்வு ஒலிம்பிக்கின் அடிப்படைக் கொள்கைகளுக்கு ஏற்ப முழுமையாக பின்பற்றப்படுவதையும் நிலைநிறுத்தப்படுவதையும் உறுதி செய்ய நாங்கள் உறுதியளிப்போம் என்று நான் உறுதியளிக்கிறேன்.
